Yakiniku West

Food was just okay. The grill didn’t seem to get too hot. The idea of cooking your food then trying to socialize was very challenging. The cuts of meat was just ok. Nothing to really write about. Service was friendly. It was just okay.

I was recommended by former Japanese students I taught English to. Been wanting to try this place and lucked out by showing up on Short Rib Day! Really good stuff. And of course, as a personal staple, I had to get beef tongue. I was not disappointed! Def recommended.

I live on the west coast now, but since I heard this place is open again, I may have to reconsider moving back to the city :D.

Used to live in Midtown, and would love coming here with my girl when we wanted a traditional Japanese Yakiniku dinner vibe. Frequented here too many times to count.

Ive been all across the country and no Japanese BBQ place has come close to Yakiniku west in terms of the ambiance alone. So glad they opened again, need to visit sometime soon.

It was the first time visiting the place. friday (1 october 2021) at 9 PM in the village location.
At the entrance there were two guys outside, one of them looks like a Japanese all dressed up in black.We were seated with my sister and another friend and enjoyed the food a lot, suddenly I saw the same Japanese guy dress up all in black leaving the place. We smile to each other when he passed next to me.

Had a good time, food was good. Portions were kind of on the smaller side. Sake selection was good enough and affordable enough. No clue on hard liquor since when I asked I guess they didn't hear me so I never got the chance to get any. Just note that 11:30 is last call and your good to go.
