It was very busy when I arrived. However the line moved very quickly. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The food is amazing well worth the price. Highly recommended
Well when you talk about deli sandwiches the conversation always has to start with Brooklyn Pickle and for me it ends there too. I myself can't ever remember not being amazed by not only the quality but also the sheer size of them. Image buying 1 lb of deli meat at the grocery store then put that huge pile on quality bread with all your favorite toppings. The whole of which is more than 2 regular sized sandwiches you'd build yourself at home. Each one being made to order the way you want it.
My favorite is the "Brooklyn Pickle" (Corned beef, pastrami and Russian dressing along with all your toppings). It's a thing of beauty and extremely delicious.
Their soups are quite good too, especially the Cream of Mushroom and Barley. It has full button mushrooms in a creamy rich broth loaded up with barley. Mmm.
Keep in mind the prices are also more than fair for the portion sizes. I myself won't even consider going anywhere else for a sandwich. If it's not broke, don't fix it.
Food is always excellent. Sandwiches are not skimpy on the meat and bread is fresh; Friday homemade mac & cheese is great and always sells out. Staff are very friendly.
Nice local sandwich and soup shop. They have other sides like mac and cheese and chicken riggies which are above average. The sandwiches are large for the price. One whole sandwich could easily feed two people. They are typically fast with your order. They also have decent deserts in their coolers. Their rice pudding is top notch, the best I have had. Definatley worth the trip for a good lunch. Also, despite this being named "The Brooklyn Pickle" their half sours are not good in my opinion. I would suggest requesting the dill pickles they offer instead.
Great sandwiches. Tje portions are big enough for even the hungriest. They are well prepared and quite tasty. I only had the half sandwich and was more than enough.
Every time I visit Syracuse I stop here.
