An informal, authentic place to get a fantastic meal. The staff is wonderful, and we had our food quickly. They probably do more take-out, but we ate in. It was as if I was again eating out in the Dominican Republic -- only without the sounds of dirt bikes going by outside.
Friendly service & oxtail was good but it would have been nice if they filled the container more than 3/4 of the way. Also, the maduros were not ripe enough. The place is a little pricey for a cafeteria-style restaurant.
After reading the reviews for this place, and having never tried Dominican food before we were delighted!
The service is friendly and inefficient just like the reviews claim. The restaurant itself could be much cleaner but the food was excellent.
Generous portions, delicious flavor. It feels authentic in every way. We will brave the grunge and go back many times.
Food was delicious, atmosphere was upbeat and waitress/cashier is always so friendly. However, the service time is, as usual, an issue. She is often overwhelmed, trying to service to-go orders at the counter and the dining room. Because of this, be prepared to wait, even if you call in your order ahead of time, especially late afternoon or evening. I love this place and recommend it.
