This place was amazing! Love how you can get a taste of Greece in a restaurant. The staff are super nice, and the food comes out really fast. The food is also DELICIOUS!!!

Excellent food. The grilled octopus with black-eyed peas and dill was superb. The perch with vegetables was wonderful. Desserts were all delicious. Great waiter.

Excellent seafood and knowledgeable staff. This used to be called Plaza Lounge, when it served mostly drinks and a small menu, but those days are gone. Owner is the same, but has hired all new, knowledgeable staff. This is now a fine dining Greek seafood taverna. Fresh fish, small but excellent wine menu. Inviting atmosphere. As with most places in Astoria, parking can be problematic. Definitely worth the experience.

Akrotiri is a pleasant modern Greek restaurant.

The ambience is nice, and they have the wall doors open to the sidewalk in warmer weather.

The service was friendly and efficient.

The menu is admittedly on the pricier side, and the dishes aren’t authentically Greek, to me anyway. However, I enjoyed what I tried. Their presentation of octopus was interesting and tasty, with grilled octopus strips over black eyed peas and peppers. I would definitely recommend this dish. For my main I tried a gnocchi with lobster in a yellow-colored, incredibly creamy sauce. The gnocchi had some sort of semi-spicy cheese inside each bite- I think. In any case, something added a little kick to the gnocchi, which was nice, because otherwise it’d be too rich.

My wife got a very non-Greek chicken with mushrooms. She liked it a lot, and the few bites that I tried were great.

All in all, a very enjoyable restaurant with higher-than-preferred prices.
