“Happy to learn that they're reopened and employees' owned and runned by many that worked there for years. Prices are excellent & very reasonable, coffee is very good, hot & cheerfully refilled. Food served hit & in large portions fit for hungry folks. Going to spread the words and come back soon again with other friends here for comfort food. Shares free parking in the busy strip mall.”

“Server not fully attending and not taking my order completely. Some dishes missing and I had to reorder. I mean why not take a short note in a small paper and come back to ask if everything already served. Lunch special isn’t worth a try. Very small portion, which has just 4 pieces of shish, even though it comes with soup and soda.”

“Never visited this restaurant when it was just a diner now that there Dominican food on the menu you will find me there more often. Kids did the typical pancakes and French toast. She did the beef stew and I ordered baked chicken, Pernil and pigs feet from the buffet. Saved some room for the Flan and it was great! Good flow of customers that Saturday afternoon.”

“Super expensive for the quality of the food. The humitas have absolutely no flavor very blend, empanadas too much onions in the Pino... we are not in Chile 🇨🇱 no need to go overboard with onions. The only thing I like is that they carry mermeladas, aji and other Supermarket items, pricy but I would pay it anyways fir the satisfaction.”

“Excellent, not-your-average-repertoire Thai food in a very tastefully decorated space. Caveat being that you better be prepared to contend with some heat! Most dishes are not for the faint of heart, though a nice Thai iced tea helps with the burn.”

“Thargyi has the best Burmese mohinga in NYC. It is a recently opened Burmese food stall in the newly renovated Hong Kong Food Court in Elmhurst, Queens. As its name sake implies, Thargyi specializes in mohinga, the national dish of Myanmar— a hearty thick fish stew with rice noodles. Calling it soup doesn’t give it the credit it deserves. Imagine mohinga as a gumbo made of white flaky mild fish meat cooked down in a stock of lemongrass, ginger, and onions. This aromatic consommé is made golden from the yellow of spices like tumeric and gets its comforting depth when it is thickened with a nutty and smoky roux made of toasted chickpea flour and rice flour. The mohinga is usually customized further by the diner — usually with a boiled egg, crunchy onions, crispy yellow spilt pea fritters, parsley, a squirt of zesty lemon juice, a dash of fish sauce, and as much toasted red chili flakes as you can handle. Thargyi also offers other Myanmar foods as specials—mostly Burmese dishes like Dan bauk (Burmese biryani with chicken), curries, popular street food noodles, and regional & indigenous dishes from other Myanmar groups like Shan tofu salad. They also sell semolina pudding cakes (plain, banana, etc) for dessert. The specials are usually announced on their Facebook page. Their chicken dan bauk (biryani) is also the best in NYC I have had. Their beef curry is okay— tender and good masala gravy but probably the second best Burmese beef curry in NYC next to Little Myanmar’s in Alphabet City. Thargyi’s core customer base is the diaspora community so the food has to be the real deal— there’s tough competition from aunties (which is what you call all older women) who home cook and sell catered food. My dad also told me that the chef used to be a very popular mohinga specialist in Myanmar. So it’s not their first rodeo in the food industry. I’m expecting great things and new specials of hard-to-find and hard-to-make dishes once they settle in.”

“Outstanding! The salsas taste deep and complex and the tortillas have a smoky aroma from the charcoal fire. Highly recommend the Memela Bandera ($6), a large tortilla stuffed with black beans that is pan-fried till charred and topped with red and green salsa, diced onion, and cheese. Easily a full meal on its own.”

“I've eaten here a few times. They have dim sum and the food from their menu is quite delicious as well. The place can get crowded really fast at times. Service is pretty good unless they are busy. It's a great spot for groups and families. I like the fried walnut shrimp, crab meat fried rice, and French style rib eye steak. Their soup is good too. As for their dim sum, come here if you're a local and don't want to travel to Flushing for some.”

“This place is certainly a hidden gem in Maspeth💎. First time going and I was so pleased. I had the Ask Sushi roll, Thai Coco, Banana Crunch and Meraki roll. The taste of all of them was out of this planet. I can’t even choose which one is better. They have high standard service. 5 ⭐️ for that 😉 .You definitely will enjoy this this place. Highly recommended.👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽”

“The place is clean and inviting. The servers were nice and the food came out pretty quick. I ordered meat lover special bing, grand dumpling, and hot sour soup. I recommend the meat lover bing. It's not really advisable to take out though. This meal is best to eat while it's fresh. The sauce that the accompanied the bing was tasty as well. The Grand dumpling came out hot and it was okay. Only order it if you like the taste of curry on your dumplings. The hot sour soup tastes unique, which is a good thing, because most of the time it's a generic flavor. I will definitely come back and sample their ramen.”

“FINALLY A PROPER JAPANESE CURRY! I've tried several restaurants katsu curry and they give you teeny amount of curry, like it's a dipping sauce, something slightly bigger than a serving of honey mustard. Here they give you a full pint(half a quart)! For place that's mainly bubble tea I was expecting a snack size bowl, not a full dinner set. It came with miso soup and a salad, the bowl had a large cutlet and what would be two+ serving of rice. I really thought they were giving me wrong order when I had one item and they gave me a giant bag of food. It was $14 but I've easily seen other places charge $18-24 for similar. The store was neat and clean, they had bunch of Japanese snacks and candies near the front, 4 monitors of the various drink options, and two monitors of food options on the back wall. I asked them not to put napkins or utensils and they complied, so you know they pay attention to their work and customers. Definitely a place I'll go again”

“Never been a fan of coffee but I definitely enjoy their Caramel Ribbon Crunch Blended Frappuccino & their sausage, egg & cheese sandwich. Their staff is always helpful and always willing to give their best customer service. Can’t ever go wrong coming to this location.”

“So happy to see a new sushi spot that opened up within a 2-3 minute walking distance from my home! Right now it’s soft opening so their menu is limited, but they will be adding onigiri, ramen, and other menu items. Just came here to get lunch, 2 rolls: crunchy shrimp tempura roll and spicy salmon roll. Both rolls are tasty, fresh, and delicious! Customer service is good and friendly. There’s a 2nd location at Grand Central as well. If you’re in Elmhurst or around the area, stop by for some freshly made sushi.”
