SÉNÉGAL ????????
Eat the World NYC review:
Known for English-speaking West Africans, especially Liberians and a smattering of Nigerians, Staten Island has its first French West African restaurant in Chez Adja. This restaurant does keep a back menu of Nigerian foods to cater to the neighborhood, but the focus is on the cuisine of Sénégal. Daily rotating lunches and a larger amount of options for dinner are not unlike the city's other Senegalese restaurants in the Bronx, Harlem, and Brooklyn, but like at those places ask the chef what is available before setting your heart on something. The portions here are big, and big value, plated thoughtfully and come with two versions of mustard sauce to mix into your bites.
Alright let's start with the Good.
The food was excellent. Really enjoyed everything I tasted. Excellent African food, the way it's supposed to be.
Now for the Bad.
The service was terrible. Plain and simple. When I walked in, no one was at the front to greet me. Everyone was in the back.
I had to ring the bell for someone to attend to us.
Secondly, the tables could be cleaner. Also, dirty dishes were left on the dining tables for way too long (they were still there when we left).
Thirdly, the food took too long to come out.
As the only African Restaurant on Staten Island, I believe you can do better. Do better to make the rest of us proud.
No matter how good the food is, no one is going to want to come back if the service is bad.
There are too many good restaurants that offer good food and service on Staten Island for this place to be lacking in service.
I want to see this place succeed. Please do something about the service. It will make or break this restaurant.
First impressions are everything.
Yeah it's that good! I loved it.
I drove 2 hours to try this place.
As a chef this is most delicious west African food l ever had.
The customer service is exellent
The place is spotless
I recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic African cusine.
