“I saw this restaurant pop up in a location that has been empty since I moved here. The menu looked really compelling, so I had to stop in. What we found was awesome. The interior is beautifully decorated, lots of good lighting and several separate dining areas for different 'feels'. All are beautifully decorate and spacious. The bar looks awesome, with the geometric cut-out shades, bold blue lighting, and nicely showcased wine bins. We chose several of the 'smaller' plates. These are all sharable portions for 3 people. They come with about 2-4 portions each. Highlights were the short-rib fritter and the cauliflower dish. Both were full of flavor and had a nice balance of textures and flavors. While there weren't many people here on a Monday evening, the service was very attentive, helpful, and courteous. We'll definitely be coming back to enjoy the food and drinks again, next time on the terrace, hopefully.”

“Been there a bunch of times, service is the only thing worth complaining about. Beer order can sometimes take 15/20min to get the table. Restaurant relies on waiters to run the food and drink... instead of runners. Has been a problem for what seems like years, can't believe it's still an issue. Food is decent enough, but running out of small items (blue cheese, carmelized onions, etc.) is unfortunately common place. Decent drink selection, fresh taps. Interior is aesthetically pleasing. Overall, a nice environment to spend your evening but be patient after you order. Try the truffle burger.”

“Wow! We were SO pleasantly surprised! Absolutely delicious BBQ! The ribs were so tender and meaty! Chicken wings were not like any I've had before. Super crispy, not greasy and also meaty!!! I am always turned off by creamy coleslaw but after my husband saying how good this was, i decided to try it. So tasty and with a little spicy kick i wasn't expecting! I'll be craving this in the near future for sure!!! Fries were great, mac and cheese was good, cornbread was also good. In addition to the amazing food, the drinks are delicious too! I had the hurricane and it hit the spot!!! We literally can't wait to go back here. I can't believe we waited so long! It is a small place, but worth the wait for sure! All of the staff and owner is so friendly, you'll feel like you're at home. Southbound BBQ has convinced me that they truly are the BEST BBQ in Rockland... and then some!”

“My sis and I decided to bring my mom here for her birthday (lunch). Upon walking in, the place was beautifully set up for the holidays. We were escorted to a lovely private area with a round table, as we were a large party (less than 10, incl. 2 toddlers). The story: The atmosphere was fantastic, our server was friendly, but what was surprising was how long it took for the food to arrive. Mind you, the place was practically empty. We saw one other party seated much further away from us. We waited over an hour for any dish of food and the toddlers weren't even served first. I'd mentioned when I made the reservation that it was for my mom's birthday and again when I entered the restaurant before everyone else, but there was no attempt to do anything special by any of the staff. Not that I was expecting anything for free, but not even a Happy Birthday...? The wait for food was enough to bother my entire party. When the drinks finally came, my Reisling ended up being a red of the same name that was well down on the wine list. I verbally stated, as well as pointed to the wine on the menu... And even then, the little ones didn't get their drinks first. I'm guessing our server felt overwhelmed by the number of people in our party, but is this not the reason for the notepad? I dunno.... Although the food was quite nice, I have to take away stars for the overall experience, given the place was super empty.”
