The Flats Restaurant & Tavern

Just an awesome dining experience from the moment you walk through the door! The menu has something for everyone and does not disappoint. I always judge my dine out experiences by food and service. The staff is incredible! Whether you decide to eat in the dining room or outside on the beautiful patio, its a great dining experience with a very "family friendly" atmosphere. So, if you're looking for a fresh dining experience I highly recommend The Flats!

FINALLY! A restaurant in Clifton Park that does simple food well!!! After years of suffering through mediocre food done poorly, we have a gem. The patio is lovely, the interior has plenty of light and just the right amount of background noise. The service each of the 5 times I’ve been has been wonderful and the owner is on site making sure things go smoothly. This isn’t the typical Clifton Park food service food. The fries are fresh cut, the braised short rib French dip is superb, and the Bacon cheeseburger as good as any in the area.
The sheet pan nachos are also very good as well as both the Caesar and Wedge salads.
Very nice bar area with plenty of tv’s and ample parking right in front of the doors.
If there’s one thing I’d like to see them add it would be a true craft IPA but I’m sure they’ll get to that.
This is a place that folks of all ages will enjoy and come back to.

Whether you're looking for a casual work lunch, family dinner, intimate date night, this is a place for everyone and for any occasion. The Flats is an inviting and welcoming space. Staff is friendly and attentive! You can tell they strive for a top notch customer service experience from start to finish. Our server was knowledgeable, mentioned the chef's heart, Louisiana influence and goal to keep most menu items made from scratch. She even made suggestions for my family and I and they were delicious! The short rib French dip is a must try! Burgers are outstanding and our entrees were delicious as well. So much flavor! I had the twin sirloins cooked and seasoned to perfection! As another reviewer said, for only being open barely a week, this place is running like a well seasoned restaurant. Definitely recommend!

We had a great dinner on the patio at the flats!! Service was awesome. The owner came to check on us numerous times. Our food was delicious!! We will definitely be back. Patio ambiance was perfect and everyone seemed to be having a great time!! Wonderful summer evening. Thank you!!

The Flats was a little flat.
My sister, niece and I were excited to try this new restaurant for lunch yesterday.
The restaurant, bar and patio look amazing, very appealing!!
The chicken wings were pretty good, nice and crispy & the blue cheese dressing had decent flavor.
The wedge salad was lackluster. Not nearly enough bacon, crispy onions or blue chesse dressing for the price.
No iced tea on a warm summer day, that was a little disappointing.
Our waitress was friendly, but didn't seem experienced.
And we weren't happy about the 3% added fee for using our credit card 😕
We realize today was only day four since their grand opening, and we're not quitters.. We'll definitely be giving this place the chance for a do-over in a week or two!!
