New Years Eve is a tough night to go for dinner. Our reservations for 6 were delayed because people were staying longer than anticipated. Management came to the rescue and bought us a round of drinks. We were seated upstairs where the atmosphere was awesome. Ella our waitress was attentive and accurate in everything she did. The menu offered a variety of authentic German dishes that were all perfect. We will be back!

We went to Village lantern yesterday for dinner (Dec 29th at 6:30PM) and unfortunately, it's going to be our last time there. They have amazing German food, great live music and very helpful management but this service by a waitress named Sarah ruined our dinner twice. Yesterday for my mom-in-law's birthday dinner and in August, for my parents-in-law's anniversary dinner. Sarah doesn't pay attention to our requests and because of these reasons, we're done with Village Lantern.

    1. Slow service
We arrived at 6:30PM and got our main menu at 8:10PM. It wasn't that the whole restaurant was busy. You can see you're being served very slowly when you see other customers who came later than us get their food first.
    2. We said No Red Cabbage!
When we were ordering main menu, we said no red cabbage for everyone but me. Only one person wanted it out of 6 people. However, we received two meals (for my parents-in-law's) with red cabbage and I didn't get any red cabbage. My parents-in-laws had to take out the red cabbage from their plates. (Attached)
    3. Waited for a cup of water for an hour
In the middle of dinner, my husband asked for a cup of water. The waitress never got him water (until we left) so a few minutes before we finished our food, I got up and went to the kitchen to ask for water. Thankfully, one waiter with glasses helped me (thank you so much!!) even when he had two drinks in his hands.

This is the second time that Sarah served us. Last time in August, she got my father-in-law a wrong menu mistakenly. However, another waiter (or manager) apologized to us very politely and gave us the food my father-in-law originally ordered in a doggy bag which was very nice.
We drove 30 minutes to get there for special occasions but we don't wanna go there again to get a terrible service. We don't want ruin our dinner again so we'll look for a new German restaurant. Sorry for the management who is awesome, but the service ruined our meal.

My son introduced us to this restaurant. The food, service, and the beer was great. The staff couldn't have been any better. Very friendly and helpful. The restaurant reminded me of a place that I use to go to when I was in Germany. If I could, I would give it 6 stars. We already made reservations for New Years eve. By
