Outstanding, creative, excellent quality food. Nice ambience. Wait staff a little jr. so asking for their opinion on wine and some creative dishes was a challenge as far as getting good feedback.
This place has excellent food all around. It's fine dining without the stuffiness. Everything is reasonably priced for what you get. Don't get me wrong, it's far from inexpensive, but for what they serve it's very well priced. There is lots to choose from for all different kinds of tastes. Don't go if you expect to be in and out quickly. It's not that kind of dining. Cocktales are delicious and some are pretty unique. Definitely a place I would recommend and return to.
Very much enjoyed The Fifth Season in Port Jefferson. All of the food had a lot of flavor. I shared the class appetizer and a salad, and we each had an entree. Both were very tasty. Fluke was the seasonal fish and it was delicious.
The ambience is also very nice. I went on a weekend evening between Christmas and New Year's and the dining room was very nicely decorated for the holiday, with a fire going in the fireplace.
I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a nice dinner out that uses local and seasonal ingredients.
Awesome food and service. Great ambience, in particular loved the fireplace. This is one of the few places I have visited around Stony Brook where you actually want to tip for the service. I had shrimp tempura, duck breast and the chocolate cake for the three courses. All the items were delicious and very well cooked. Would definitely visit the place again.
First, a tip. Definitely get reservations because this place is very busy. My lady and I went here during Dickens Festival and it was a full house. Even with our reservation, it was a small wait. The food was fantastic. I had these chicken dumplings that were so good, I wish there were more than three. Then for my entree I had a Kobe beef cheeseburger with cheddar and heritage bacon. Cooked a perfect medium rare. It melted in my mouth. It was honestly one of the best burgers I ever had. For dessert I had a PBJ rice pudding. That one surprised me with how good it was. Crunchy peanuts over a grape jam that covered this soft and sweet rice pudding. I would definitely try that again.
