My family had a very special birthday dinner for my mother at the 1770 House. My mother, who has Alzheimer's and had not been out of the house for two years, told us that she wanted to go out to dinner for her 86th birthday. She recalled that she and my father always went the the 1770 House for special occasions. We made a reservation and explained the circumstances. The staff could not have been more understanding. They even let us bring the special grape juice that we serve my mother as wine, and brought her a glass complete with the three ice cubes she requires. They made sure to serve each course promptly, so that my mother did not become impatient. They treated her with absolute dignity and respect. My father, my sister and I will always remember this night when our family was able to celebrate after some very long and hard years. 1770 House helped make it possible.
This landmark bed and breakfast on Main Street in East Hampton is just north of East Hampton public library on the west side of the street. Almost all of the buildings on this block have historical significance. Walking distance to all restaurants in village.
Tavern had excellent food! From atmosphere, menu, and service it was a special night out. MJ was our waiter and he made the experience delightful.
Went there last night for a birthday dinner . I had the tavern berger .....it was amazing cooked to order and well plated. As for my friends they all had a great time and loved the food.... great place to go with your lover or friends.... ambience is lovely and all the personal is very friendly and polite .
Had a delicious dinner here with friends in the Tavern downstairs a few weeks ago. Love the atmosphere there with the low lighting and secret prohibition type aura. I always request to be seated in the Tavern if available. Dinner was divine and the sticky date cake was the cherry on top for dessert. Excellent Manhattans as well. A pleasure!
