Fatfish has great mussels appetizers. Not only do they have great food. But their location along the end of the water channel has an amazing view of the Great South Bay including a view of West Fire Island in the distance. Great staff and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
Loved this place. Stopped on our way home from a sisters weekend delicious drinks and shared some tapas Everything was great including the view !! Closing this weekend for winter. Reopens in March ..will be back
I wish there was more stars to give! I live literally within walking distance and I was told about Fatfish from a neighbor. My wife and I started going at least one a week. The must have steak skewer appetizer, the shrimp & scallop pasta, mushroom gnocchi, halibut and the list goes on. Their food is out of this world. We would go when the weather was nice and sitting out by the water was just beautiful. Such a wonderful place to unwind a little and the staff is helpful and friendly. They know their menu and it’s nice to ask a question and be able to get a knowledgeable answer. I recommend this place to EVERYONE and no matter where you live, you should come! If I was able to give it 10 stars, that would still be an understatement
Flatfish has become one of our favorite places for dinner on the water. Tables are directly in front of the bay and we even saw someone come by boat, park it nearby and leave from a nearby dock. The parking is free, but lot is pretty small. There was no wait the week day evening we went and we had no reservations. Waiter brought over a small plate of Italian olives and bread basket (not warm bread). I ordered salmon and fresh vegetables with a request to have it prepared "blackened". My husband ordered fish & chips. Our food came out within 15-20 minutes and was steamy hot. The "blackened" salmon was NOT true blackened but simply had spices over what appeared to be broiled salmon. There was nothing crispy or blackened about it, BUT still delicious. Fresh vegetables included 3 asparagus Spears along with carrots and summer squash cooked perfectly. My husband's fish and chips were quite disappointing. Fries were hot and crispy, but the breading on the fish was cakey like a very thick wet batter, not crispy. The fish inside was overcooked and dry.
The view of the moonlit water was beautiful. All of the food was delicious. Our waiter was extremely friendly and right on top of every detail. We loved it. Only thing is there is a wait. Our 45 minute wait turned into an hour but it was worth it.
