(March 16, 2019, 2:13 am)Open and ready for the 2019 season, the Canal Cafe offers you a great chance to enjoy waterfront dining inside or out. There is a casual atmosphere here and in summertime you can a front row seat for boat watching on the Shinnecock Canal. Nightly specials are always the first place to check and then you have a delightful array of soups and chowders, oysters and shrimp appetizers just to name a few. I think their homemade sun dried hummus to be exceptional and their salads are fresh, crisp and dressed to be devoured. You have a nice selection of fresh fish to choose from as well as traditional favorites. In season you will likely wait for a table but they offer a few tables to sit at while you wait and there are boat slips showcasing some serious boaters loves. They serve a picturesque marguerita too. Even a visit here in the cooler months brings summertime to your senses.
