This place is great. We were blown away by the brisket and sides. BLOWN AWAY!
Really enjoyed the weekend-only fried chicken and waffles drizzled with rosemary and honey. The mac and a cheese is also good, and I love the spread of pickles and sides. The BBQ sauces are tasty, as well as the sausage-heavy gumbo, smoky cast iron cornbread, and bread pudding. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because the food is noticeably better some days than others. Sometimes the brisket is perfect, fall-off-the-bone tender, and sometimes it's still good, but not as memorable. But if you see the owner there, she's really friendly and you'll know for sure it's one of the best days to eat there! Highly recommend this place if you're in the area.
The brisket had a nice smoke and tender. Not so much for the pulled pork. The flavor was good, but tough and not pulled. The corn bread was very dry. The Mac and cheese was good. The Brussels and bacon a little underdone and just okay. I might go back but there are a lot of restaurants around the area. We'll see.
Great food, owner is an impeccable server. He truly cares about his product. Can't wait to go back!
Super tasty and I want to drink their BBQ sauce. The sweet potato wedges are baked and delicious, ditto for the mac and cheese! I got a sampler of the pickled whatnot that they have and it was all excellently spiced. After my own heart, they have several kinds of hot sauces available.
