I tasted a real bagel today and it reminded me how long I've been settling. It was perfect! Service was polite and personable, genuinely cared about the experience. Outdoor seating with umbrellas is a treat too!
I practically live for everything bagels. This was such a bad bagel I could barely eat it...it was so hard and not seasoned like a normal everything bagel that I've ever had in NY or anywhere else. I was really disappointed. I had such high hopes for this being not too far from home and thinking I'd found a good bagel shop I could go to again because they just don't have any around here really. I'm doing 3 stars instead of 1 because I don't think its fair to give a 1 star rating on my just 1 type of bagel when they offer so many other things, but if I did I'd give 1 star.
So me and my boss had this argument (He's from new york and came here and loves the place) that there isn't a difference between new york bagels and other bagels, he said the pizza and the bagels in new york are different because of the water they use. So one day before I go to the bank I stop by and grab a bagel to see what the difference was, and as I'm driving I eat the bagel and go "wow" this dough is a bit sweeter and thoroughly kneaded a lot better then the bagels you get around here. Now I am hooked on these bagels and instead of getting donuts once every few weeks I'm going to get a bagel. I have been bagel-spoiled.
