Delicious southern comfort food.
What we had:
Porkchop, green beans, candied yams, rice & gravy, and cornbread. The wife had fried chicken, green beans, mac & cheese, rice & gravy, and cornbread. $8 a plate with a drink: one meat, rice & gravy, two sides, with cornbread.
The good:
The food obviously. It was lunch time buffet and there wasn't a packed line and we had our food and drinks and were eating within 5 minutes! The majority of staff/servers/cashier was nice. Clean facility which is a plus! The price is very reasonably once you place that succulent fried chicken and pork chop in your orifice and realize you are in heaven.
The bad:
The menu was hidden and if its your first time there you may wonder what in the heck do I do. But when I told them it was my first time here, they explained the menu/buffet very politely. To get to the order line you have to walk around the resteraunt, but it isn't that big of a deal. The cashier was kind of rude, saying she didn't see what I got, but its very hard to cash out with three huge plates of food. Also, the drink selection was kind of small. They only had water, lemonade, tea, and pepsi. Not a big deal because im not that picky.
Five stars because it is the best resteraunt within 60 miles of Elizabethtown, NC. And I am a local, so yeah! Also, five stars because of the price. Compared to local resteraunts and fast food, for the amount of food you get, it is well worth the money.
First visit but it definitely is not my last. Food - excellent but service - beyond perfect. Ladies were so nice. I would give them 10 stars if I could..
They shouldn't say Southern Style Cooking, they should just say Southern Cooking. Awesome Southern favorites. We had the fried chicken, rice with chicken gravy, and field peas. It was all wonderful. A lot of people were waiting for fried catfish. This is the place to go in Elizabethtown.
Excellent food and very friendly staff! Good prices and service. Highly recommend
