This place is remarkable. We were actually just strolling by and noticed it. I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu and the people that own/run the restaurant are so genuine and kind. Could not more highly recommend this place! GO!
Can't get enough! Love this place. Sandwiches are to die for! Pickup frozen Curate Spanish Tapas? Are you kidding me!!! Taste just like the restaurant.
Although I miss Button's Bagels (which used to be in the same spot), I've got to say that La Bodega is even better. We've ordered from here a few times, and each time has been amazing--both in their food and their helpfulness. They even helped me out when Uber Eats failed to come pick up my order.
Spain has long been one of my favorite food destinations, and I've often wished I could get a good bocadillo (complete with grated tomato and quality jamon) without flying across the Atlantic. La Bodega uses fantastic ingredients, and the result is as wonderful as something I would expect in Madrid or Barcelona.
The oxtail empanadilla and the cocas de cebolla are other favorites in my house. We will definitely be regular customers!
I won a paella. It was totally amazing! Fish cooked perfectly. Rice with leeks and fennel so good. Thank you so much!
If you can't get reservations to Curate, head around the block to La Bodega. After an amazing dinner Friday night at Curate, we went to La Bodega for picnic provisions for Saturday night. Katie Button's tortilla espanola is the best ever. It was our main dish for the picnic, hubby picked out cheeses and ham while I grabbed peppers, an amazing chocolate bar and sangria. Had we had access to a kitchen we would have tried the take and cook options - had we access to a freezer I would have grabbed the cherry sorbet which was so delicious at Curate the night before. The most amazing thing, I think, is you can also get a pan of paella. Had we not had one the night before at Curate we would have gotten that week's offering. The recipe varies by week but they have all looked so good via Instagram. Next visit to Asheville, we will make sure our accommodations will allow some of the take and cook items.
