Big Oak Drive-In & Bar-B-Q

Nice lunch hang out, very busy but they are fast. No place to sit and eat or restroom, so pick up your food and head somewhere else. Food was pretty good, we had the shrimp burger

Whatever you do - get here! This is the best stop in the area - quick bites and fantastic flavor. Seafood was all fresh and fantastic. Make sure you get the ouster burger.

Big Oak does not live up to its hype. I've heard people describe it as legendary. The food is okay and greasy. If you're vegetarian, don't bother. The parking lot is crazy small. There are only two tables, and those are located out back in a dirt yard. They don't take credit cards. I just don't see why people speak so highly of Big Oak. It's okay, not great.

Just ok. The fried oyster sandwich tasted like they used canned oysters (not fresh). The shrimp burger was fried popcorn shrimp (probably frozen) on a bun. The BBQ was decent but needed some sauce. This is a no frills walk up restaurant. Fine if you’re looking for a quick bite but if you are seeking fresh seafood this is not the place. Nice menu selection so they have something for everyone. They are cash only but the have an ATM on site.

Food was great! Fast service for a smaller burger joint. I actually ordered a grilled cheese and a hot dog. Maybe you're thinking it's hard to mess either one of those up but let me tell you it can be done. I was a bit surprised though that the grilled cheese wasn't cheddar but a white cheese however, it was grilled to perfection. Definitely a repeat eatery for lunch on the banks.
