Jackie's American Grille

The coconut shrimp and prime rib were excellent! The Calypso chicken and lobster mac and cheese were mediocre. The lobster mac was so salty it was inedible, but otherwise would have been really good. The server was knowledgeable and honest about recommendations but didn't check on us and the service was very slow.

Food was excellent. Tonight's burger special was the cowboy burger. It was awesome. And big. And tasty. Wife had a regular cheeseburger. We both agreed the burger meat was well prepared and satisfying.
Clean, well lit atmosphere. What keeps this from being a 5 is that things were slow. It appeared they were short in the wait staff which would explain the longish night. But that burger ???? made up for it!

Great restaurant in Emerald Isle. Menu is varied in offerings and price range. Service is friendly and attentive. Nine of us were seated quickly and enjoyed a variety of dishes. The owner came by to check on us and chatted awhile. Super place for a casual evening. Our best meal out while at the beach!!

Somewhat over priced. The food could have been better prepared.The mashed potatoes were not done well and were merely mashed and lumpy. No effort was made to do them properly for the price charged. The prime rib was flavorful but had a great lump of fat which should have been removed before presentation. This is the second time I have been somewhat disappointed with what has been served there. They should send the kitchen staff back to culinary school.

First time there--4 of us. We had a variety of entrees and all liked them very much. Serving sizes were appropriate for the price and presentation was nice. Beer and wine selection was good. Service was all good. We would come back next time in town.
