Marvelous service and food. Busy and took a while, but I was happy to wait as the atmosphere is pleasant and the people kind.

A quick review of Hart and Soul, located in the old PO BBQ building near downtown Hickory.

The new owners have opened up the dining area by removing a back wall. More windows up front also help give it a expanded feeling.

Open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Sunday, they had a good selection of items on the menu, they offer daily specials on the chalkboard as you walk in.

Staff was very friendly. Plentiful and occasionally creative menu choices. I went with the blackened shrimp po boy wrap and would have it again. The salad itself would've been enough for a meal. My daughter went with the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, which was more than enough for one.

Worth your time and support for a local business.

Highly recommend this newly opened restaurant! Food is great and reasonably priced. Only the wait staff falls short, they handle your cup all over the rim, and somewhat neglect your table even when business is slow.

Very good and fresh. Good, friendly atmosphere and service.
Sausage gravy and home fries are exceptional..
Poach on the crabcakes Benedict was more of a hard boil, but still tasty.
A little more attention to the coffee and condiments would be a nice elevation.
Overall, well done.
