“The food was exactly what one expects from a Checker's restaurant but the service was suspicious. We handed the cashier out money and were short changed by exactly 5 dollars. Then we never recieved a receipt and when asked for our food total it was the amount we had expected but the cashier believed we only gave 15$ instead of 20$ even though we only handed him a single bill. I am not sure if this was just a common mistake or if he was working the register for his own pocket on the side. We love Checkers and always visit one if we are in a town that still has one. Perhaps this will help future customers.”

“This was a shopping experience! I can't believe that they have a smoker in the parking lot. We bought several different pre-smoked items and they were all delicious. They also had the most beautiful fresh floral arrangements mix and match 3 for $12. Beer selection was phenomenal! This was a late night run for us. We must go back when the beer den is open.”

“I like this place. It's not really family oriented, it's a high top oyster bar. Our kids are older, so this isn't a problem for us, but I'd suggest going somewhere else if you have kids. There were a couple of tables when we went. I went there with my husband for a night out. Rick was very helpful with food and drink suggestions. As an appetizer, we got the crab dip. It is awesome! My husband enjoyed the oysters. I got the "catch of the day" flounder. Catch of the day items vary. If you go during lunch, there's a different menu and I wasn't allowed to order lunch items.”

Skimpy on the steak,it was skirt steak, tough a leather. Chicken was tough also. I wish I could've got my money back. I kept the food in fridge for a few days,should've took it back. Its on 127 near Utterly Delicious. Don't waist your money. Very Unsatisfied, Disappointed!”

I love that Que Rico! offers the traditional $1 tacos (beef (shredded or ground), pork, bean or vegitarian). Onions are crispy and crunchy; cilantro was full of flavor and the meat (or veggie) were cooked to perfection. Service from staff added a bonus to the visit.”

“Great service and respectably speaking, this place is less than mediocre. Great service, cheap quality. I was actually a lot disappointed since I always do my homework first before eating. The sushi rice needs a lot of work. Too bland and the texture was, well, horrible. I've had authentic, true Japanese sushi. Traveled to many states and have eaten all the sushi I could possibly eat. I'm actually very surprised this is the taste standard for hickory residents but I'm not surprised since it's a small town and people don't seem to go out much it seems. This is a typical, low-budget quality, Japanese fast food with the typical sweet carrots, precooked and dry chicken teriyaki, etc etc restaurant. Was really looking for something different to offer in hickory. Again, great service.”
