“Newgrass Brewing Co has been a terrific addition to downtown Shelby. I've been numerous times, but finally decided to write a review. My wife and I had dinner there recently. I had the Reuben, my wife the Yardbird. Both were delicious! We split two sides: one order of green beans and another of kale. We especially love their green beans (with almond slices). The beer selection at Newgrass rotates, which can be frustrating on the one hand because when you find something you love there is a risk that it'll be switched out (eventually) for something else. On the other hand, you get fresh options to choose from. I tried the Tyrant Shrine (I have no idea how they come up with their beer names). It was truly one of the best beers I've tasted! Dark, incredibly smooth, wonderful aftertaste... To top things off the atmosphere is great for hanging out. One can go upstairs if a little more privacy is desired. Great live bands, and in warm weather months one can sit at tables in the adjoining alley. Highly recommended!”

“My first time eating from here, and I was very impressed! I called in to order 2 large pizzas and garlic knots. Ended up getting their $50 deal, which is 2 large 1 topping pizzas, 2 orders of garlic knots, and 2 baked ziti. Not only was everything great tasting, but there was enough to feed 4 people, twice!! The service was also great and the establishment clean! I will add this place to my list of repeat places to eat, that's for sure!”

“The food is great, especially the Italian sub. But the service was very slow. They took a phone call and tired up the register with that order instead of ringing it on another register and serving the people standing in line. Everyone was really nice, but it took a long time to get our to go order. I would recommend ordering in advance.”
