Moore's Olde Tyme Barbeque Chicken & Seafood

If you want to know what Eastern North Carolina BBQ is supposed to taste like, come to Moore's. I first visited this location back when it was the original location before it was remodeled. I was concerned that the redesign to the franchise style would've affected the food quality. My concerns were completely unwarranted. Everything was just as delicious as I remembered. Sweet tea was also made properly and they were extremely prompt with the refills. To top it off, the prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be stopping by when I'm in the area again.

Great food and service. Order taken quickly and correctly with a smile. Employees and Manager keep coming by to see if you need a refill on your drink, and offer to remove finished plates off table for you. Overall I wish I could give more stars. I would and do recommend Moore's to anyone that wants good food and great service. I ordered a regular BBQ plate with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. It was ready and on my table within a few Minutes and was great.

It was great. They were very busy but we got our meal in about 10 minutes. Could not have ask any better service. Food was good also.

Enjoyable atmosphere with the band playing. Food was very tasty. My Lady didn't like the beans due to a little spicy kick. Good portions, I enjoyed it.

I give the waitstaff five stars for their friendliness and attentiveness.

I was visiting a friend in New Bern for a week. She insisted we had to go here for barbecue cooked the North Carolina way.. When we got there, I asked the young lady at the counter if the barbecue was hot spicy. She offered to get me a sample, which I accepted. It came with no sauce and was hotter than Hades! ???? She seemed surprised by that, but I got the impression she’s a person who enjoys spicy food. I ended up ordering shrimp. I wanted green beans as one of my sides, but she said that had the barbecue in it. I ordered two sides of mac & cheese. The shrimp was really good. It was not spicy at all. The mac & cheese was not spicy either and tasted like what mama used to make.. The hush puppies were the best I’ve ever eaten! They kind of reminded me of fried cake a little bit. A lot more sweet than savory. I would definitely go back for the shrimp, but somebody else can have the barbecue. ????????
