Persimmons Waterfront Restaurant

Great ambiance if you sit outside. Inside is a little loud. Food is quite good but getting a cup of coffee after dinner is overkill. They use a drip method and it takes forever - over 20 minutes - with a pot of hot water sitting on a small table!

You are paying for the view which is incredible. My wife and I went here for our five year wedding anniversary dinner. The waiter was very nice but he forgot things often, made a couple of mistakes and he was slow. The food was average and the price made me think the food was going to be better. I think there are better places to eat that have better service and food but I can't find a place that has a view like Persimmons does.

We had a lovely time at Persimmons because we took a boat into New Bern and had a good time together. The view is gorgeous and the service great: 5 stars for both. The food? 3.5. Could definitely improve that side of things. So it adds up to a 4 (since the food is the top reason for going).

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Our server, Sarah, set the tone for a very pleasant evening! The shrimp and Geeche grits were the best I've ever tasted. Portions were perfect...all four of us left with full bellies. We will definitely be going back!
