Skip the food. Just go to the ground level outdoor bar area at sundown, get a drink from the grest bartender, listen to live music, and enjoy the most beautiful you will see in the Outer Banks. Awesome.
Glad to see a menu change from when they first opened. Woman sitting in foyer breast feeding with no coverup. It TOO long to get a beer. Bread on the Cuban was too hard. I couldn't eat it. Shrimp poor boy was good. They were out of daily special desserts on a Thursday evening. Lots of children.
Outdoor dining and beautiful sunset. Add good food, some interesting mixed drinks, a wonderful waitress who made the evening special and all in our party had great time. Will definitely come back.
The lounge area under the restaurant is a great location which makes the long wait times easier. Once inside, be prepared to wait a bit more. We had a group of 6 adults and 2 kids which seemed to be a very average group size for the restaurant. We were seated around 7:30 and immediately placed order for drinks and appetizers. When the waiter came back we were all ready to order our entrees. Appetizers took a longer than normal time to be delivered but our entrees took exceptionally long and were not delivered until nearly 9 PM - almost 90 minutes after we were seated. We had asked for the kids meals ASAP but that didn't happen and at this point both kids were asleep in the booth. We got our check as quickly as possible and took the kids food to go without an apology from the wait staff.
All of that aside, the food was ok but nothing was amazing. The location is this restaurants best feature.
The red snapper was really delicious. Any of the seafood, I believe, is a great bet here. The burgers and steaks in our party were also quite good. The crab cakes were very good. The service was excellent! The French fries were the only thing we really could not brag about- they were not very warm and were a little tough. The starters were excellent, including fried pickles, caramelized onion dip, hummus plate, and fish dip. Overall - a pleasant experience.
