Kahlovera Street Tacos (Durham)

Awesome Mexican food! I recently ordered food from Kahlovera Street Tacos from a friend’s recommendation. As you can see, I still went on a rainy day and I was very satisfied with the food I ate. When I placed my order, I spoke with the owner about his business and my familiarity with Mexican food as I was raised in AZ and Southern CA. He recommended that I try a Huarache, I chose the pork – basically similar to a tostado with a slightly thicker tortilla base. It was excellent, very tasty. I also had a cane asada burrito, and once again it was excellent. The owner suggested that I try all of his hot sauces. Not sure of the names, but the red medium sauce with the pepper seeds was my favorite. The red hot sauce that was creamier had a good zip to it, but not too hot. The green medium sauce with the pepper seeds in it was very good. I did not try the green creamy hot sauce, but I will next time. I am a Mexican food aficionado; I love the authentic Mexican flavors and dishes they cook here – very uncommon along the East Coast. This was my first time visiting Kahlovera Street Tacos. I sometimes go out of my way for great eating venues, and I will be eating here every time I am near Durham. Highly Recommended - Bravo!

I actually visited their new location at Meadowmont so they need to update their address on Google maps! It was so good! I got the Frida fries which were huge and would be enough for two people. I also got the coconut drink which was delicious. They were very friendly and it took less than ten minutes for my food to be ready. I was happy to see lots of customers already even though they just opened. Congratulations to them!

Ate at the truck today on Miami Blvd. I saw the pics on Facebook of the quesabirria and I had to try it! Line wasn't too long, good atmosphere for outside dining (music, heaters). The quesabirria was delish and very messy! Good quality meat with no fat, the broth was tasty, good stuff! I would definitely try more items on the menu. Only thing I would suggest is to label the sauces that looked like some sort of salsas. Those are on the outside of the truck, no idea what they were so I tried all three... one was hella spicy, but I like trying new things so it was fine! No idea what they were though, ha!

Best tacos and street food around for a great price! Agua frescas are also amazing(I love the passionfruit!)

Good food, I like their burritos. Have also tried all the tacos, the platters, and philly. Nothing I didn't like. They set up a comfy outdoor seating area, hope they are located here for a long time.
