I was looking forward to an excellent dinner with the wife after work. Food look very wonderful. But like they say looks can be deceiving. There was no flavor to the food and also the sides were a bit under cooked and cold. Not place if you are looking for a fulfilling meal. Food not worth the price.
I went here for lunch because it had good reviews. I like fish, so I ordered the catfish with collard greens and cheddar grits. The catfish was decent, it was fried, the bottom was sitting in a little water and wet. The top was fried well but was not seasoned. Because of the lack of seasoning, I just figured that senior citizens eat here often. But the collard greens were loaded with vinegar and the cheddar grits...I cannot describe the taste. I just ate the fish and left the sides. The waiter did not one time ask if I was satisfied with the food. He just came and cleared the table. I went to school for hospitality management and love all types of great food but this was not the best I have had... Wasted my money.
Harvest 18 has been excellent quality since its opening and continues that same quality today. I had the chicken salad sandwich and potato salad for lunch and it was delicious. I will have to say that the vegetable lasagna that my wife had was even better as it was truly something special. I have never had a bad meal here and do not believe I ever will. Thank you for your fine quality of food! Looking forward to coming back.
It was absolutely one of the best meals I've had in a very long time! I got the scallops, green beans, and cheese grits... just wow! The chef sent out a complimentary bean dip prior to our dinner that was delicious! We went our plates back to the kitchen completely clean!
The place is nice, it has a really nice outside area where you can sit if the weather allows. The restaurant has a farm to table model. Our waiter was outstandingly good, he was really engaging, he explained all the dishes and where the produces came from and was very pleasant. I am a vegetarian, we were on a large group so we ordered some appetizers to share, I tried the green tomatoes with goat cheese and they were really great! I also tried the cheese dip that was really good. I ate the veggie lasagna as entree , it was also a good dish but a bit small, I was glad I had eaten appetizers first. But overall the best meal and service I had during my 3 week trip to NC.
