I came for a solo brunch today and sat at the bar. Watching the kitchen move so cohesively and at such a fast pace was impressive and got me excited about the food early on. I ordered the chicken and waffles, which came with a biscuit served before my meal. The biscuit was the perfect size and moist. My (4 mini) waffles were absolutely incredible and could have been eaten without syrup (note: there is an ample amount of powdered sugar on the plate). The dish came with two eggs I requested to be scrambled with cheese added. I was pleased to find the eggs soft with cheese melted in and seasoned well. While I only eat chicken 1-2 times a year, there was a good (boneless) portion on my plate waiting to be devoured. First bite: overcooked. Second bite: barely seasoned. Had I eaten the chicken WITH the waffle, it would have been heaven.
Addt’l notes:
+ friendly service
+ good coffee
+ skip the substitutions & order as-is (if you can)
+ you will be full
+ the restaurant is small so I’m sure they get slammed on the weekends (I came on a Monday late morning & sat right away, restaurant was approx. 60% full)
+ few vegan options
+ no alcohol
Delicious Brunch! Great service! Good vibes. Worth the wait. No complaints.
I had a farmer's omelet with potatoes and asparagus on the side. I could really taste the fresh herbs. Ate some of my brothers pancakes they were incredible. The chicken and waffles came with 3 perfect plump waffles. The coffee was good and they had cheerwine.
This is a hidden gem in a strip mall off Hwy 55! The food is fresh, flavorful and creative! They are only open for breakfast and lunch and serve breakfast the whole time. The biscuits are a must try and the omelettes filling but light and fluffy. Try the red pepper jelly on the biscuits, it's not what you expect! This spot will be in heavy rotation! Would have loved to give 5 stars but they added gratuity without disclosing.
You must get here early to beat the lunch crowd. Excellent service. Excellent food. I myself had the must try duck hash. Others had the fluffy pancake dish. Chicken and waffles. The super buttery fresh biscuits were a treat. The omelet with side of Cajun shrimp and grits was looking good. I wish I can try everything.
