Oh' Calcutta

Presentation was beautiful and the decor is big-city elegant - not pretentious. They're not cutting corners anywhere and yet, dishes are reasonably priced. They take pride in what they are doing, which is refreshingly evident from the minute you walk in the door, our server was great.

We had all small plates and the portions were generous, the Tandoori Lamb Meatballs were exceptional, rich but not heavy. Flavors are sophisticated, not overpowering. We enjoyed the Gunpowder Chicken and the delicate Beet and Sweet potato Croquette. The meal was really wonderfully balanced. Little spice, delicate sweetness and crunchy. It was all delicious, look forward to trying many more items on their extensive menu.

They have a parking valet and there's an easily accessible, cheap garage parking a city block down the hill on Cherry (across the street from the church) for a couple bucks. Make reservations on the weekend!

We were greeted right at the entrance with a smile and warm welcome. We are suckers for great Indian food and Oh’Calcutta didn’t disappoint. The service was amazing throughout and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It has a nice modern feeling and touch. The atmosphere was really cool. The food was amazing. I had the chicken tikka masala and potato samosas. The tikka masala was perfect. Some places make it too sweet and rich but NOT this place. It was amazing! The butter naan was also not over buttered. My wife had the veggie vindaloo, which was also amazing. Had a bit of a kick to it which we loved. We will be back!

Wow, what an amazing experience, everything was as I expected, staff was very welcoming and prompt, loved the vibe and the ambience of the venue, staffs were courteous. For me ambience and service stole the show. Now comes the food, loved the aroma of the appetizers, well cooked and well presented, Gobi pakoda was the best, my wife and kids loved the chicken tangri momos. Loved the non alcoholic mocktails, kids loved the mango lassi. Calcutta chicken birayni and malai kofta was awesome. Overall a very pleasant dining experience . Loved the unique flavor added to the Indian cuisine. Super impressed with the hospitality of the owner Mr Philip chandarana . Will definitely recommend and will come back for more.

The food and ambiance were amazing, and I will definitely be back. I went on one of the first nights it was open, and my only complaint is that my drink (Rose Fizz, I think) had a little too much rose water and tasted very soapy. After a couple sips I asked if I could get a different drink instead, and they still charged me for the one they took back. So that was disappointing. Otherwise it was a great experience.

Service made accommodations for dietary restrictions, and offered excellent service along the way. We came in 3 days after opening, so the service was in the middle of perfecting the system. I’m excited to see this place mature and hopefully narrow down their wine list to better paired offerings.
