Constantine’s Restaurant

Well, well I did NOT expect this level of amazing food in Gastonia! Our group of 5 (including one vegetarian) visited on a Monday night and everyone left happy. From the freshly made hummus to the stuffed eggplant that arrived sizzling in a lava bowl to the moussaka, short ribs and wonderfully seasoned mushrooms—everything was perfectly seasoned and well presented. Between entrees and apps we tried at least 9 dishes and loved them all. Definitely going back here again.

Tried Constantine's for lunch (3pm on a Saturday). Food was beyond amazing! Taste, quality and presentation were spot on! It was a bit pricey ($75 for lunch. 2 people. Water to drink.) Portions seemed small. You are paying for the presentation. I believe the restaurant should provide more than a 1/4 cup of rice with your meal.
Service was lacking a bit. They were quick to greet and take order. However, our water remained empty for most of the meal and noone checked to see if all was good.
Loved the bread! Skip the rice pudding...it, too, lacked rice and was runny.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff. I was a bit disappointed by greak salad. Would not expect tomatoes to be as crunchy as cucumbers. Also, babaganush is not creamy dipping but more like eggplant salad.
Pottery meat (we got lamb) was very tender and tasty.

I was excited to bring my family to this new restaurant in the Gastonia area. The positives are that we made a reservation and were seated on time. The presentation of the food was great. The appetizers were amazing, and the menu was filled with plenty vegan options. Our server was great at the beginning of our service.

The negatives are that our entrees looked good but tasted bland so the salt and pepper were needed.

Also, I’m certain they are trying to find the groove of things because the servers were kind of all over the place. Seems like they put their focus on the newest guest coming in, and slightly forget about the existing tables.

I would try them again in a few months!

I highly recommend coming here! It's such a fun atmosphere and experience. The staff are very kind and the food is excellent 👌 The first time we came was opening night and the second time we came was Valentine's evening. Both times we loved it. I did take off one star for service only because the second time we came and asked for the check, it took 45 minutes and asking again to get it 🫣 BUT that doesn't keep me from wanting to come back! *I only have pictures from Valentine's posted, but will see if I can add the other ones from my husband's phone*
