MACHETE

It'd be hard to believe someone if they said they were disappointed with anything from here. The service is fantastic and the food is amazing. The waiter was the appropriate amount of conversational and answered all of our questions with excitement. I can't wait to come back to try more of their small plates and desserts. Everything we had tasted great, but I recommend the cauliflower, double fried chicken, and apple dessert. I would go back for each of these three items alone. Lastly, their beer selection was right up my alley.

Please do not go to Machete; I'd like to keep this gem to myself.

The food is incredible. Kevin and Lydia, the head chefs, are creative and clearly inspired. Service is exceptional and the mission for attendees to be guests, not customers, is evident in every interaction. There is no equivalent in Greensboro with regards to food + cocktail quality, creativity or atmosphere.

For those familiar with the previous occupants, Crafted Street Food, you should know the interior has been transformed with the addition of murals and disguised sound panels. You'll hear happiness sprinkled around the room but in-depth, quiet conversation is now possible.

I anticipate this restaurant will continue to have reservations booked weeks out but there is a gorgeous cocktail lounge for walk-ins.

From the moment we walked in, this was a superior experience. We began in the lounge while waiting for our table. We had no less than 3 staff check on us during this time, bringing water, cocktails, and answering menu questions. We moved to the dining room before we could finish our first cocktail. The staff was attentive, made recommendations, and beautifully described each plate when it was placed on the table. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and look forward to dining with Machete again.

I’m hesitant to share because I kinda want to keep this place a secret all my own. By far, the best dining experience in Greensboro I’ve ever had. The flavors are familiar but unexpected. Complete in a way the leaves you wanting more. I regret not ordering one (or two) of everything on the menu. Tal was kind & walked around the room greeting everyone. Everyone we talked to was warm & inviting. Machete is my new favorite. If this is any indication of what’s to come in the Greensboro culinary scene...????????

Everything about our experience at Machete was absolutely amazing. The chefs take you on a culinary journey that plays with your expectations, sensations, and wows you with complex flavors. The plates were a lot of fun to share, and the service was excellent! I highly recommend rolling the dice on your cocktails because you’re in for a real treat. We went with friends that were nervous about expanding their pallets and they left excited about trying new and interesting foods.

I’ve eaten at Michelin starred restaurants that didn’t leave me as elated as Machete. Machete could charge more than twice as much for the experience they provide. Definitely a great addition to Greensboro’s food culture - worth a special trip.
