“Just had Island fest for the second time since they opened. The jerk chicken , came with a choice of yellow or white rice with beans , and cabbage. I always get a beef patty with my meal as well. The food was served quickly, it was hot , the staff was warm and attentive. It’s nice to be surrounded by the spicy aromas coupled with nice reggae tunes in the air. There’s no place like it in HP or surrounding cities. This place is a real gem. Support local mom and pop restaurants!”

“The place is nice and clean. Atmosphere, the walls are bare and not quite sure if they are open. The bagel was nice and tasty, with cream cheese. The steak and cheese was horrible. The meat was very thin, with ZERO seasoning, and the lettuce was larger than the actual meat(see pics). We also got a VEGGIE sandwich which was good, with a side of Broccoli salad. Notice we got a VEGGIE sandwich, which might be because one person is vegetarian. That person got the broccoli side. Took a bite and guess what? It's made with bacon! The person failed to tell us so! They offered a piece of cake in exchange. There is not a beverage station, drinks must be purchased out of a cooler. Definitely recommend getting one here for at least ice tea and water(this is big in the South) Lots of items on the menu but the steak and cheese was not good. I would recommend perhaps for those dining in to serve on a tray. Food was given to us in a paper had and after putting it on the table with the bottle of tea from the cooler looked like a school field trip lunch. Definitely not worth he almost $40 this cost! You could done in a decent restaurant with tip for this!”

“Today, I decided to patronize a recently opened restaurant, SassyButlers for a quick dinner. I chose to order online since the restaurant’s food was MTO. The online ordering process was seamless and incorporated a graph that lets you know when your order is ready. The prices are competitive with other similar restaurants. I purchased the Smokehouse burger/fries for $10.99 before taxes, online ordering fee, and the included mandatory tip were added in. The food was excellent, the bun was buttered & toasted and the burger was a smashed style a cook out. The fries were phenomenal with their battered flaky texture. There was no excessive grease or seasoning on the food so the flavors were not masked. If you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend grabbing some food for lunch/dinner. It should be noted that this is not a traditional restaurant, it doubles as a convenient store of sorts without the gas pumps but, it still has great food like a lot of restaurants inside of such establishments.”

“St.Jacques is in the Burke Manor Inn. It is a charming venue in Gibsonville. Across the street are operating railroad tracks, a train passed during our meal. A 2 story White manor with wrap around porch and rotundas on both corners is set beside a gravel drive and surrounded by greenery so you feel away from town. 2 enormous Magnolias are to one side of the manor creating a tunnel as you drive up. Entering you see a lovely staircase ahead and the dining areas in each rotunda. We were greeted with a smile and kindness. We were seated by a window in one of the rotundas complete with brick fireplace, sparkling chandelier and a floor to ceiling library shelves on one side. Linen covered tables (only 4 total) greeted us with fresh flowers and lights on every table. Listening we heard soft music, often French, to set the relaxing mood for our meal. The menu was extensive in my opinion with options of beef, lamb, seafood, and pasta for everyone including Gluten Free upon request. A meal here is an event- meaning it’s not rushed. We enjoyed each course and relaxed along the journey from appetizer to dessert. It felt like we were dining in another time when dinner was an event not just a time to eat. We highly recommend treating yourself to the experience. We will definitely return.”
