Absolutely surprised my wife and I by how good this BBQ is! We expected over priced low quality touristy trap food! BUT LET ME TELL YOU THAT IS NOT THE CASE! Brisket great! Pulled pork great! BUT THOSE GREENS ARE THE TRUTH!! AMEN THANK YA LAWD JESUS! I don’t care how long your grandmother been making greens cause it ain’t long enough!! These greens are spicy, meaty, greeny, savory, these greens are the AWAKENING! My wife doesn’t like greens but today she saw the light! She’s now a believer! If you google places to eat in Maggie Valley, there shouldn’t be no other place that pops up besides Butts By The Creek! This is what bbq dreams are made of! Kick rocks Gordon Ramsay!

The sides were excellent, my husbands pulled pork was excellent, my blackened catfish was light and cooked just right but it was not blackening seasoning. It was more of a spicey cajun seasoning. It was actually too spicey for me. I really enjoyed eating on the creek and the atmosphere. A large group of motorcyclers came in during our meal, our waitress was overwhelmed taking their orders. I would definitely go back again !!!! And I do recommend it too.

We dined in on a Sunday during the pandemic on the screened in porch. Original seating was going to be almost back to back with a very occupied table, so we requested a table with more distancing.

Some staff seemed to wear masks below noses... maybe they slip down a lot.

Food was OK, but would recommend calling ahead, at least this day, a Sunday, to ask what they are out of or will soon be out of. Today they had no ribs, french fries, okra, and fried apples. They ran out of chopped pork right after we received ours. Cole slaw was excellent, like Chick-fil-A's. Baked beans were good, rich smoky flavor, but Haywood Smokehouse has better. Onion rings were most excellent! Mac-n-cheese was very tasty. My wife's chopped pork had 3 or 4 large blobs of fat, mine had one (Maybe because they were about out). Tea was good. Service OK.
