Athena's Cafe

Mediocre at best. I had the Gyro...it was $14.99. I know, inflation and all, but there were literally 3 thin strips of Gyro meat on the sandwich (see photo). This was NOT a fifteen dollar sandwich. The service was fine, this just isn't a good value at all.

This little diner is a gem. Excellent food and the wait staff are all awesome. They cook and have your food ready with haste. And amazing isn't the appropriate word for the food. From American classics to some creations of the mind you can't go wrong. I order the Ruben everytime and it's the best I've had in years. 10 out of 10. Always recommend 👌.

Oh you want to go to a restaurant in Mooresville NC that services breakfast all day, has a vast menu to cater to many people's tastes, has slow service, and watch people get irritated for getting their order wrong several times then come to Athena's Cafe. I was in the area and decided to try this restaurant. I ordered the pork gryo and it was bland. I assume it was bland was due to catering to many people who may not have good Greek food. Will I try this restaurant again, most likely not as Mooresville NC has many restaurants to choose from. The waitress who servered me felt like she did not want to be at the restaurant as she talked very fast and barely understood her and at few times I thought she was talking Greek to me. I ended up pointing on the menu to what I want to eat. The restaurant was not packed so I don't understand why the service was slow to refill my drink and when it was refilled, it was with warm tea so my iced tea was warm tea.

We've been twice. Once for breakfast, once for lunch with our 3yo. Both times the food was excellent, as was the service. The menu is pretty large with lots of options and they do offer breakfast all day.

I didn't not get any photos when we went for breakfast but it was great. Excellent omelette and excellent pancakes 🥞.

I picked a simple burger for lunch, that was massive, but will be trying other items next visit. Wife got baked feta and sauteed mushrooms which were both yummy. My picky 3yo daughter was well accommodated with plain ole spaghetti. Like totally plain, lol.

What's better than the good service and yummy food? Well the prices of course! The prices here breast every other breakfast place(except one) and are not a reflection of the quality of the food. It's like, cheap.
