The Dunavant

This evening was our first time at The Dunavant, however we have eaten at Medium Rare in DC, which this restaurant is modeled after. They have a variety of small plates and additional sides which is nice. The soup was great. Tonight they did a leek soup rather than the normal soup and it was amazing, hopefully it becomes a regular option on the menu. The sauces for the steak were very good and the truffle fries were great.

The only issue is with the steak itself. The steak was ordered medium and came out with some pieces around medium rare. If eaten without the sauces the steak itself is lacking seasoning. Also, unlike at Medium Rare, the steak is brought out all at once. With it being pre-sliced, it was not very warm as the dining experience continued. I wish they would bring it out in two courses to resolve this and allow for trying an additional sauce.

They just started weekend brunch with a different menu so looking forward to trying that at some point as well.

Prices are just right. Large portions. I had to get a to go box. The brussel sprouts are a delicious choice if you add an extra side. It is a sharing portion. Great service as well.

This is my second time coming to the Dunavant and it was as wonderful as the last time. I arrived fifteen minutes before the rest of my party did and started out at the bar until they arrived. The bartender's were extremely friendly and since it was 5:30 and the restaurant wasn't very busy, they took the time to talk with me and answer some questions I had about the menu.

Once my party arrived, they catered towards our every need and immediately took our order. Our food arrived very quickly and tasted just amazing as it did the last time I was here! One of my friends was visiting from Texas and was extremely impressed with the choice in restaurant. I have already recommended you to half a dozen of my friends and coworkers as a great place to take their significant others for a date or special occasion.

This is the first restaurant that I have ever frequented twice in the same two week period. I will absolutely be coming back again! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Went here last night for my moms birthday! It was amazing! The food was great, my steak was cooked perfectly. Soup was delicious, everything was quality for very inexpensive price.Our waitress’s name was Afua and she was very helpful and attentive. The whole staff were friendly and professional, while still efficiently serving a packed restaurant. Definitely we will be back!
