For what it’s worth, I really enjoy going to places in the United States where I forget I’m in the United States. Restaurants off of Central Avenue in Charlotte are perfect for that and Adamary’s is no exception. Do they speak English here? Possibly. Or maybe they speak as much English as I do Spanish. Either way, I never found out. The menu: Spanish. The tela novellas on tv: Spanish. So I broke out the 20% of Spanish I remember from high school and had a great time at this place. Now onto the food... I ordered the Arroz Con Pollo which is one of my favorite Mexican dishes. It came with chips and three salsas: a tomato, green, and pepper (???) salsa. I was a fan of the first two but couldn’t really vibe with the last. Didn’t matter. I liked that the chicken had a fair amount of cheese. And the rice was tasty. Friendly service. I don’t know if she could tell I don’t speak a lot of Spanish (let’s be honest, she probably could) but I think she appreciated the effort. I hope to return and try some other goodies that caught my eye: pupusas, tortas, tacos.
