Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Whisky River at the Epicentre

I had two different experiences on the same night. First night in town and we came out to eat and party. It was kinda late when we arrived but no one at the door told us that they were no longer serving food. We sat for a while without anyone approaching our table and we finally left to find somewhere to eat. Later we came back as it appeared to be the liveliest spot at epicenter that night. The bartender was incredibly attentive considering the place was packed. I never waited for a drink all night. I had a lot to drink and she made sure before I left that I had some water and that I was sorted out for transportation and not driving. I wish I had gotten her name to give proper credit.

We've been here three times since moving to the area. The second two times, some one else chose it as our meet-up spot, but it just wasn't right for us and we moved on. Obviously, some folks love this place because it's often busy enough. What I didn't like: right from hello, the wait staff seemed like they'd really rather not be working (especially for our last visit, BUT there was some type of Santa-con thing happening, too.) The hostess was nice and service was timely and on point, just not really enthusiastic, not even a little. And the food is good enough, almost. If you're reading this and thinking to give this place a try, then for sure, try it out. Just maybe not for a first date. And if you love it, give them a great rating, to counter this one. But we have been consistently underwhelmed. Sorry guys.

Great game day environment!!! Stopped here to watch the Redskins game prior to heading out and was pleasantly surprised. Massive TVs, Skins jerseys everywhere, good food and our waitress was busy, but checked in on us regularly. It's the next best thing to watching the game at the stadium. Huge drink selection. All good all around.
