So this is an interesting review. So we went to city kitchen. I had heard this place had good food. And I heard they recently started allowing dine in. So we wanted to give it a try. Now since it was out first time.. we were a bit confused as to how everything went down. So let me try and clear up some confusion. It is best to order online and pick up your food in advance. If not delivered. Even if you arrive there without ordering. You still have to order online now since this was iut first time. The people helped us out and took out order a the window. There were several differ t bar scans to pull up menus. For the sMe place. Very confusing. Especially since one menu charged more. But the catch of this spot is... there are multiple restaurants under the same roof. Sharing the same kitchen space. They each have their own kitchen space in the back. This is what was explained to me. And there is a assortment of foods... seafood jamaican. Soul.. and even desserts. But we decided on homestyle kitchen. They were very helpful. And the food didnt take too long to prepare. Once we ordered off the correct me u. The price was significantly different. In a good way. The searing for dine in is first. One first serve. But there is only 4 to 5 tables. There is another area for people to wait for pick up orders with about 6 seats.once the food arrived. Let me tell you.. it was amazing!!!! The collasial shrimp was to die for. Mac n cheese and yams hitting too! 2ic had greens and she destroyed it. The lemonade was on point also. So now that we know the process better. This will be a spot to return to. From time to time. We drove over 1 hr. to eat. But it was very good. You have many options as far as food go in this same spot. So you really. CAnt go wrong. Just order ahead for pickup!!

I recently heard about this restaurant, so I decided to try it for Valentines Day. The online ordering opened promptly at 6pm. We ordered the stuffed salmon, Bangkok salmon, lobster tail, Philly steak and cheese empanadas, collard, yams, and Mac n cheese. It took an additional 20 min to receive our food once we arrived! But when I tell you this food is WORTH the wait....I mean it!!! This is some of the BEST food I've experienced in Charlotte! I'll challenge it against many of the popular restaurants in the area. The food is perfectly seasoned, fresh, and plentiful!

It's currently a small establishment with limited staffing, but I'm sure it won't be for much longer. His food is so delicious I definitely see an expansion in the near future!

Tips:
During busy hours, allow at least an hour for your food to be prepared. So order about an hour before you're ready to eat.

The website shuts down when he's busy keeping up with orders. Place your order once it opens or you may have a 2 hour window wait before orders are resumed.

Overall, hats off to the chef! It's a 20 min drive but it will definitely be one of my new spots! Next time I plan to try the lamb chops!

Within the past few months my husband and I have ordered from Homestyle Kitchn several times. It has been amazingly consistent each time. The food has been fresh, seasoned perfectly, and the portion size has always been filling! My favorite is the Bangkok chili glazed salmon with mac and cheese and collard greens and it hasn’t disappointed yet. Please keep up the great work. Your passion and gift in culinary is noticed and appreciated!

Everything was perfect down to the Iced tea lemonade. Chef came out to greet me and I appreciated his hospitality! 💯 will definitely make my rounds next time in Charlotte.

I used to buy meals from this chef EVERY Friday… I’d spend no less than $100 with him because the food is that good!! I was over there soo much that we became friends! So sad he left Delaware but I’m positive North Carolina will enjoy his meals! They are excellent and always served in a timely manner! I had even booked him for a private breakfast for my wife’s birthday! Amazing! Great guy and great chef here… I miss him and the cooking… enjoy NC! It’s worth every dime
