Use to work here back in 2011...one of the cleanest restaurants ever!!! The owners were amazing and the job was a lot of fun for a country boy learning sushi and serving the city slickers! I continued to eat here for lunch and special occasions throughout the years and had the chance to recently revisit. DJ was on point! The drinks and food were PERFECT! And our server was knowledgeable and quick! The female owner is a wild and fun lady who truly cares about her restaurant! If you’re looking for a great night out make this the start of the evening and enjoy some of the best Japanese food that Charlotte has to offer! If you’re lucky you may see a local athlete or celebrity! It’s very common to see people of this status at Nikkos. Enjoy everyone!
My birthday dinner at Nikko was hands down one of my most memorable and fun dinners I’ve ever had! It was a late dinner on Friday night so the music by the DJ was loud and the other guests in the restaurant were definitely there for a party! The owner comes over and gets the table to sing when you take sake bombs and is just an overall entertaining gal to watch and interact with. If you like quiet restaurants then I wouldn’t recommend this place after 7pm on a Friday or Saturday. If you’re looking for a fun restaurant for a party or girls night, then you should definitely get a reservation!
Food was great and the service was good. The atmosphere would have been great if there wasn’t blaring music. We thought we made reservations at a restaurant not at a nightclub. We went for a family dinner party of seven...finally had all the kids together for dinner. We had to scream when we talked and really couldn’t have an actual conversation. We asked to have the speaker right above us turned down. The server said that it could not be turned down. It would have been a perfect family dinner if not for the extremely loud music.
