The Wooden Vine

This place has a beautiful sultry ambience. I highly recommend the white wine flight option. Only down side is that they do not have any vegan options (just fries and brussel sprouts).

With its modest and small outdoor patio and generally narrow shape, The Wooden Vine really has a Manhattan feel to it. This place is a place that also appears to be some sort of wine and dine sort of joint. They really killed it with the interior design here.

First time at Wooden Vine this week! Brought a friend and we enjoyed talking to the friendly bartender and ordered the mystery wine pours. Really neat idea as, if you guess the varietal and region correctly, you get it free! Our friend guessed correctly and fun was had by all. We did not order food but will try that next time.

This place is a little pricey but you get what you pay for at least twice over. We've had the same bartender every time and he is incredibly knowledgeable and always gives wonderful recommendations, even if you've got very specific tastes. The cheese plate is a must have and the flights are a great way to try something new with no risk because there's just no way you'll dislike every wine in the flight, no matter how picky you are.

We were recently here on a Saturday afternoon. It was around 3:30PM and when we approached the doors, we questioned if they were open. It was incredibly dark inside, and we were barely able to make out that there were two people at the bar.

We decided to go inside and enjoy a flight of wine. However, when we walked inside, the darkness persisted. We took a seat near the front doors so we could hopefully have some natural light. Unfortunately, it didn't make it that far inside and it was incredibly difficult to make out anything on the menu. When we asked why the lights were so low, we were told it was "to set the mood..." at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon...

Overall, the wines were good and the selection (from what we could make out) was decent. One of the most exciting parts of tasting wines (especially on a flight) is being able to compare the color of the wines on the flight board. When it's poorly lit, you can barely see the wine glass on your table...

It'll be a while before we go back.
