Really nice spot! I love cajun food! So when this came up as a recommendation my husband and I had to get here. Miranda was a great bartender/waitress! I was impressed with the "shooter" sampler with the classics like red beans, lobster bisque, jambalaya, 2 types of gumbo and etouffee. Of all the etouffee was the best in our opinion. The catfish and shrimp was fried to perfection!???????? The Hurricane drinks were really good also. I enjoyed my shrimp po'boy also. I should have chosen fries, bc I didn't really like the coleslaw. Will definitely be going back!
Having been down to the incredible city of New Orleans just a couple months back, I had to check out the new Cajun place here in town.
As I'm writing this it's only been open a few weeks - and it does have the feeling of still working out a few bugs with getting orders in, etc. especially at the bar.
With that said, I like what they've done with the place and giving it some atmosphere, and the food is really pretty respectable. Not quite 100% NOLA quality but not far off.
Worth checking out.
Best Cajun spot in the whole area. Even beats Razzoos in Concord. Authentic food and atmosphere. Must eat spot #WHODAT #GEAUXSAINTS
We have been waiting months with great anticipation for the new Huntersville, NC Lost Cajun to open. Having traveled to New Orleans many times we were hoping for the same gastronomical experience in Huntersville. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The Po-Boys were so-so at best, not stuffed like the Nawlins style Po-Boys we’re used to. The fried battered oysters and shrimp on the Po-Boys lacked crunch and seasoning. The bread and french fries were slightly stale. We liked that the restaurant provided a sampler of the gumbo and jambalaya after we sat down. I liked the jambalaya and lobster bisque the most; your taste will vary. I ordered the half oyster Po-Boy and jambalaya special. The jambalaya was very savory with a hint of Nawlins spice. Service was good though it took a little bit longer than expected to get our food. We’ll probably go back to try another dish, but we’ll skip the Po-Boys, at least for now.
I grew up in south Louisiana (St. Mary & Terrebonne parish), so I know real gumbo when I see/taste it. Grandma spoke cajun french and would make the best gumbo, crawfish etouffee, red beans & rice, etc. I miss it, to say the least now that we live in Huntersville. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we tried the red beans & rice and GUMBO! It's the real deal. I'm telling the truth, red beans & rice tasted just like grandma's! Gumbo was truly authentic and amazingly delicious. I've tasted all kinds of "gumbo" at other restaurants claiming to have authentic gumbo, but it's usually just overly spiced, watered-down tomato-based soup...not gumbo at all.
To top it off, the service and staff were excellent and very friendly too!
We are excited to go back!
