Taqueria Los Portales

This had got to be the most authentic Mexican food restaurant in town. I moved here from Arizona after living there and eating real Mexican food for 33 years, so that's saying something. The prices are what I would expect and the quality of ingredients are exactly what you'd purchase at their grocery store just across the stree.

Went there yesterday and was the best Mexican food I ever had. The tacos were outstanding and the soup I got was really really good! Wow I want more now!!

This is where you order REAL Latin food. This is the real deal and the food is outstanding. You order up front and they will serve your meal. Not a fancy place but well worth the visit.

This place is as authentic as you can get. Best tacos around by far, tortas (Mexican sandwich) as big as the plate they serve it on. Try to save room for their homemade flan. Usually busy but they move the crowd through quickly...or you could stay for a while and drink 32 ounce Mexican beers ;)

The food was great both times we went! There was a long line to order the first time, but the second time we walked straight in to the counter. Once you order and sit down (seat yourself), there is no table service. They bring you your food and then you're on your own. That's a good thing sometimes. The soda machine is in one corner of the building so if you're on the opposite side you'll need to walk all the way around to fill your cup and get refills.
