City Kitchen

The food here was so so good. I am not a foodie and my wife just said, "I have NEVER seen you react to food that way." I had to stop and put my fork down to properly savor my entree. The chef is a genius.

THE SERVICE excellent..but I felt like a judge on chopped t.v. show..Did you TASTE your food before sending it out..whomever was responsible for mashed potatoes..GREAT..job..now that person tasted theirs before sending out..many dishes cried out for more salt..(For me to say this is rare..I don't care for much salt)...The desserts though beautiful..some were dry..and others not enough sugar..please taste these..and you will actually agree with me..little vanilla flavoring..dips could use garlic and sour cream .just too bland..Does the owner..taste food..even on Top Chef...they get in a hurry..and send out tasteless dishes..My children. brought me on Mother's day..and don't want to sound not nice..but after two years in a row at City Kitchen..I told them I will pay half of the bill for next year..going to Carolina Inn instead..If I was the owner in charge..I would ease over to Carolina Inn and check out their buffet..see that nothing is dry..and everything is tasted before leaving kitchen...You do have a beautiful environment..and top notch servers!!!
I wasn't going to write a review..but if I were in charge..I would go into kitchen..and double check your chef ..to make sure hurry..hurry..means just send it out......No way..taste..taste FIRST...Thank you for your time.

City Kitchen’s food has never disappointed. It’s pricey for the portions (appetizers especially) but definitely worth it for dinner and lunch. Service has always been good. The servers are attentive and food is prepared promptly and accurately. On one occasion we walked in for dinner, seated, and drinks ordered only to be told a few minutes later the kitchen had closed. Not sure if the host was new or the staff disorganized that particular night (they’re always busy) but it was a let down for sure. We’ve been back since and received the usual great service. Highly recommend City Kitchen.

They took care of us even during a hectic graduation day when everybody seems to be there. Good service and ambiance. Good food.

Service was great, food was good but pricing is a little steep in my opinion. For the amount of food you get for the price I think pricing should be lower. The food was great just not enough. I would probably visit again as everything was good. We went on a Friday night and they were pretty busy so I would recommend a reservation.
