I dont even care about pasta, but I DREAM ABOUT THIS PASTA. Always so darn good.
This place is absolutely amazing. The pastries are made on premises and are always fresh. I have to eat gluten free so I tried the caramel pecan cakes. These were so good I could not tell that they were gluten free. I mentioned to the owner how it is difficult to find a bakery that sells fresh gluten free pastries and I was glad he had them on his menu. The bakeries I have been to have always had them either frozen or none at all. If you’re ever in the area or even if you took a little detour it’s definitely worth a trip at this bake shop.
The pasta was very good. The tuna salad was underwhelming. What I'd really like to comment on, however, is the obligatory 20% built in tip that's said to unsure that employees earn a living wage. It's curious to me considering the water and utensils are self-serve and the customer is also expected to bus their own table. It seems very clear that the owner wants the burden of paying employees to be the customers' alone, rather than distributing the profits made on their food in such a way that everyone gets what they need. I'm not sure I have a real judgement on this, I'm just puzzled.
Extraordinary food. Each ingredient in the dish is thoughtfully chosen to put together an amazing plate. Had the cheese plate as a first, and the gnocchi with hazelnut brown butter as a second. I’ve eaten in a lot of high priced, big city restaurants. This is one of the best.
Fantastic treasure trove - my favorite place in the triad to find high quality delicious food every time I visit. NEVER a disappointment !
