Island Wok

I came on a weekday for a pretty late lunch. My chicken hibachi came out hot and fresh and was delicious. The portion size is large enough that I took some home and ate it for lunch the following day. This place is locally owned, and I enjoy supporting small business owners. I had a great experience, but I hope those that didn’t will politely address it with the staff and keep coming back as they get their footing under them. They are still very new! :)

Dined in on a Saturday night after spending time at the beach. We were promptly greeted, seated, served drinks and had plenty of help from their staff on menu questions and vegan selections.

We started with an appetizer of edamame before moving on to entrees which included the Asian Salad, Chicken Hibachi Bowl, Shrimp Hibachi Bowl and a side
of steamed white rice for our little one.

Very impressed! Food was served quickly and was cooked perfectly, servers were attentive on refills, extra napkins, etc. and I loved the little touches like an orchid on the table and environmentally friendly dishes. Very clean and the open atmosphere that makes the restaurant feel much larger than you’d imagine from the outside.

Can’t wait to go back once they’ve secured their ABC license to enjoy some sake while exploring their menu further.

YUM!!!! My neighbor went for their soft opening and brought me back some Filet Hibachi. I ordered my steak well done (I’m pregnant so it has to be for safety!) and it was cooked perfectly! Cooked all the way through but somehow still tender. The fried rice was delicious as were the veggies. Island Wok is JUST what surf city (and my third trimester appetite) needed 💕
