Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure

We stayed at Carolina Cottage via Airbnb and loved it. It was a welcome relaxing experience for my family and I. Creek, firepit and grill to enjoy.

Villas needs some serious updates. Our villa was dirty when we arrived. There were dead flies along with several extra large dead wood roaches in numerous places. The washing machine gave us problems every time we used it, and linens in the upper bedroom closet had a really musty smell to them. The deck floor and outside table were covered in about 4" of leaves and looked as if it hadn't been attended to in quite some time. We have been staying in the same villa for over 20 years, and it still has the same carpet, the same flooring, and really starting to show some aging.
The grounds are well maintained, and the view from any villa is spectacular.
The restaurant on the grounds has a good menu, and the eating area outside provides a lovely view as well.
We love Lake Lure and will continue to return each year. Just hope next year our villa experience will be a little cleaner and possibly have a couple of updates.

It was amazing here. Stayed at an air bnb that was gorgeous. The resort was big, and if you like to golf, this is a great place to stay. It's in the mountains, which is a beautiful scenery. The roads are very narrow, so you have to be very cautious. Be prepared to take a drive to the near supermarket.

We stayed at an AirBnB house here. The location of the house was beautiful, as was the whole complex. The only amenities we availed ourselves of was the beach on Lake Lure, which was nice and well-maintained, and the swimming pool. It was nice but small. There was a tiny lazy river and two separate pools (one deeper than the other). It would have been nice to have had a slide(s) and / or a diving board. The snack shop was nice, though. We spent more time at the lake. All of the staff we encountered were really friendly and helpful.
