Hickory Tavern

Well, let me start out by saying the building is really nice. Newer building and everything is perfect arranged and decorated. Great outdoor dining, and that's about as far as I can go. The food is just average, nothing to really write home about, same old bar food and a bit pricey for what you get! My girlfriend's and I met for a few drinks, dinner and "Girl Chat". We tried to order the "skinny margaritas" and the waitress came back to the table and said "they couldn't make those"...really?!? Moving on to the food, I had the chicken salad and fresh fruit. Again, nothing that really stood out, the Chicken salad was good, no eggs, it had fruit and nuts. We also had nachos as appetizers, and again, good, but you can get those anywhere. Not impressed, just average.

Friendly atmosphere with great service. If you an enjoy a hearty salad the Menu features a build your own salad section that allows for plenty of creativity. My husband ordered the shrimp po'boy and enjoyed enough to order again the next time we went for dinner. I ordered the grilled fish sandwich with roumalade sauce and found the portion to be generous but it was a bit too salty for me.

Have to update the review. Apparently there is a new General Mgr. Quintella, who is on the ball and customer focused. Along with recent menu updates, and the addition of live music..I up this to 5 stars!

Fantastic. Food. Great service. Gen Mgr is fantastic. Shes so friendly n helpful. Bands every Sat night. Laura is a super great server. Fun place. TVs everywhere.

Regional chain tavern with a good selection of beers, good specials, decent food and the best oysters in the triangle. They get their oysters from Louisiana and they are plump, salty and delicious! Check your nearest tavern for $1 oyster day (Holly Springs it’s Thursday).
As some others have said, depending on what you order, it can be pricey. The staff never fail to be polite and professional. It can get very busy during happy hour and dinner on the weekends.
