I am not a fan of all the restaurants under her umbrella, but I can always count on Death and Taxes to come through when entertaining swanky guests. I really like the twice cooked lamb shank. It's a considerable amount of food and I sometimes feel generous enough to share. Lovely muted elegance.
Very nice place with some history behind the place. Food was very good, I had the grilled pork it was very good and had a nice, fresh flavorful, taste. My friend had the rabbit which was also very, very good. It is a higher end place so on the expensive side. Limited beer selection but the food and service are top notch. Our server Selena was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and the history of the place. She was very professional and discussed with us the vast experience of the owner. Very nice experience.
Fancy dining but also overrated.
Service was great! The drinks were excellent. The food was good.
The highlight was that I asked for a metal straw for my cocktail, on a whim, and sure enough.. they brought me a metal straw! It really is the little things :)
I live in a city with over 11K restaurants. Raleigh has less but let me tell you, if you visit the city, check out Death and Taxes. The food was delicious. Steak wasn’t great but coming from Houston, I won’t judge too hard. The space is small. Very small. We called and still had to wait but happy we did. Great bourbon selection! Like AMAZING! Didn’t see anything on the dessert menu to excite me but still left very satisfied. Well done. Oh, get the roasted oysters!
