Makus Empanadas

I went to Morgan Street Food Hall and had the Maku Meal that came with 3 empanadas, 1 side, 1 sauce, and 1 drink. The staff member I met was very nice and helpful and had great customer service. I ordered 1 Beef empanada, 1 Bacon & Cheese empanada, and 1 Sweet Corn empanada. I believe I was just expecting a different taste but I was only a fan of the Bacon & Cheese empanada. I also had the white rice and there isn’t much to say about that but the Chimichurri sauce was definitely not my favorite. Overall, an okay experience but I definitely wish the empanadas had more flavor in them.

Having never had an empanada, this was a real treat. I've tried about 1/2 of the different kinds they have, and haven't found a bad one. I especially love the bacon and cheese and pepperoni versions. The beef is not ground, but shredded beef, which was a pleasant surprise. I probably eat here at least once a week. I will take the 12 pack home one day.

The bacon & cheese empanada was the bomb!!! The rice and beans were absolutely delicious. The empanadas are small though. It's just enough if you aren't starving and will leave you room for dessert.
