Poorly designed space and very noisy and difficult to enjoy any conversation. Food hit or miss, excellent brussle sprouts, but mediocre crab cake egg Benedict.
Great place for food and drinks! I went during an all you can eat seafood day for there anniversary! It was An amazing experience great food and drinks! The staff that works there are the best as well!
I've been here a few times and thought that I just got lucky with choosing the right thing on the menu, but this place is just awesome all around that it doesn't matter what you get from the menu. You won't be disappointed. Great food, great service, and great setting.
Awesome concept, service, and food. I'm working in Raleigh for a few months and have been trying local places, and Plates is the best so far. The atmosphere is very local and relaxed with a dash of upscale. Food was incredible. Deviled eggs were worth every penny (bacon jam was yummy). Everything on my plate was cooked flawlessly, and I don't say this lightly. The service was top notch. I wish I could remember our waitress's name because she deserves recognition. Very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, my drink was never empty, and overall just pleasant experience. The only complaint I had were the flies on the patio. Not anything you can do about it, but I would recommend eating inside during the day. Prices were fair, and location is nice. I highly recommend trying this place if you are in Raleigh.
Saturday evening dinner couldn’t have been better. First time visiting this restaurant but will definitely be back. Food was delicious from appetizers to desserts. Service was quick and attentive but not overly so. Parking which is sometimes a challenge downtown was easy. Highly recommend. Casual place - after 830 pm bar items only $5; extensive wine, spirits and beer menu. Nice variety on food items - we had fried okra, crab cake slider, vegetarian tamale and watermelon salad. All very good. Located right on Main Street and good indoor and outdoor options. Would recommend.
